MIRANDA — Shoppers at Miranda Fair were stunned this week to see a small financial services pop-up advertising “Show Now, Pay Later” loan packages to help families afford a day at the Royal Easter Show.

The lender, “FairGo Finance Co.” (not affiliated with any bank, or reality), is offering competitive fixed-rate mortgages to cover the full Easter Show experience — including entry tickets, ride passes, showbags, two Dagwood Dogs, a pair of lemonades and parking somewhere within the Western Hemisphere.

Local mum of three, Carla Thompson, was seen doing quick mental math while clutching a flyer. “Let’s see... four kids, two adults, 12 rides, three tantrums, six bags of sugar and a livestock pavilion meltdown... yep, this checks out. We’re going to need a redraw facility.”

Show packages start at $1,499 for the Basic Fun Pack, which includes general entry, one ride token and half a fairy floss stick to be shared among siblings. Premium options include the Show-Off Deluxe, which throws in ride wristbands, a haunted house panic attack and a Bertie Beetle Mega Bag.

“We saw a gap in the market,” said FairGo rep Simon Kash, 23, who normally sells crypto. “Families want the Easter Show experience, but without the cash upfront. Or ever.”

The microloan comes with optional balloon payments, which feel appropriately themed.

Local authorities have issued a gentle reminder that local fairs, sausage sizzles and cardboard box forts remain inflation-proof alternatives.

Meanwhile, families across the Shire are reportedly choosing between the Easter Show or a week in Fiji. The jury’s still out.
